Financial Assistance

The College of Agriculture, Food and Natural Resources (CAFNR) offers you one of the strongest scholarship programs at MU. CAFNR also offers an in-house student loan program.


*Scholarships marked with an asterisk are available to freshmen.

  • *Agricultural Journalism Endowment Fund
    For entering freshmen in the top 10 percent of their high school class; one-page essay explaining why they want to study science and agricultural journalism is required.
  • Gateway NAMA Scholarship in Agricultural Communications/Agrimarketing
    For students demonstrating academic excellence with interest in and potential for a career in agricultural communications/agrimarketing. Awards alternate between science and agricultural journalism and agricultural economics.
  • Delmar E. Hatesohl Travel Scholarship Fund
    Supports travel expenses for students majoring in science and agricultural journalism and communications to attend professional meetings. Scholarships also may be awarded.
  • *Jerry L. Litton Memorial Fund
    For students with leadership potential as evidenced by active participation in FFA activities or an interest in science and agricultural journalism. Awards alternate between agricultural education and science and agricultural journalism.
  • *David Minnick Scholarship
    For entering freshmen in science and agricultural journalism with a preference for a rural background and a graduate of a Missouri high school.
  • *J. Leonard Peerman Scholarship
    For students in science and agricultural journalism who have good academic records.
