Whitney Wallace
A one-of-a-kind atmosphere is just one reason why Clinton native Whitney Wallace, AgJ '10, chose CAFNR and the Agricultural Journalism Program, which she describes as one of the most well-rounded degrees.
"CAFNR produces well-educated graduates in all majors, so adding the quality of MU's journalism school results in highly prepared agricultural journalists," Wallace said.
Wallace, who describes herself as innovative, enthusiastic and organized, plans to work in public relations or broadcast to achieve her career goals through her two main passions in life: agriculture and communication.
"I can't specifically name my career goal, but I can guarantee I'll be working to educate others on the importance of agriculture, because telling the true story about our industry is very important to me," Wallace said.
A member of Collegiate Farm Bureau, CAFNR Student Council, CAFNR Week Steering Committee and Sigma Alpha professional sorority, Wallace also reports for CAFNRCast, a weekly podcast produced in conjunction with CAFNR CornerPost.
When asked her advice for high school students, Wallace said: "No matter what area of agriculture or journalism you're interested in, CAFNR offers the education and experience it takes to learn your passions and talents. Getting involved will be your key to success."
